Planning a Gift - How Supporting HSS Can Benefit Your Financial Future

A “Planned Gift” means you decide to support HSS through a financial tool that may also be advantageous to your finances.  Individuals who have made a provision in their estate plans are recognized a members of the Hospital's legacy society, The Wilson Society.

HSS Planned Gifts experts would be delighted to discuss the many options. Please contact External Affairs at 212.606.1196 or by email at giving@hss.edu

Examples of Planned Gifts in Action

Trusts, Annuities and Life Income Gifts: Give to HSS now, HSS gives lifetime, secure monthly payments back to you

Life income gifts such as Charitable Gift Annuities, Charitable Remainder Trusts, or a gift to the HSS Pooled Income Fund, - are becoming popular additions to donor retirement planning. They offer attractive, fixed, secure payments you can count on, even in a volatile market.

You make a donation to HSS, then at a specified time, HSS pays you -- or any named individual -- monthly dividends on the entire gift, for a set number of years, which can be a lifetime. The rate depends on timing and size of donation, but is usually higher - often substantially so - than other comparably secure instruments like a savings account or CD.

Bequests: Tax Advantages of Including HSS in your Estate

Leaving cash, securities, real property, or other assets to HSS in your will creates a charitable deduction that can provide tax advantages for your heirs. And the good feeling starts now.

Named Gifts - An enduring reminder of your generosity

Establishing a named gift to HSS in your will can pay tribute to your special connection to the world’s leading musculoskeletal hospital. Named after yourself, or in honor or memory of loved ones and friends, or a combination of those, your legacy can impact lives for decades. Just like the generous and creative gift by late advertising executive, Franchellie “Frankie” Cadwell.
