Dr. David Altchek, the co-chief of sports medicine and shoulder service at Hospital for Special Surgery in Manhattan talks about advances in understanding when to do microfracture surgery. To illustrate, he discusses the example of Amar’e Stoudemire who is five years removed from microfracture surgery. He is still playing at an elite level, this season for the Knicks.
