For Medical Professionals

Dedicated to treating athletic injuries of the musculoskeletal system, with a special focus on shoulder, elbow and knee injuries, the Sports Medicine and Shoulder Service at HSS is a team of 31 physicians offering unique specializations. The Service also offers physical therapy, performance, sports psychology, and nutrition services. We field +45,000 patient visits each year and performs +6,500 surgeries.

The HSS Sports Medicine and Shoulder Service is committed to providing a broad continuum of care to the athlete over the course of his or her career. It is our responsibility to see a patient through the consultation, surgical, and rehabilitation process, mindful of the athlete’s current and future performance needs.

HSS has 23 Sports Medicine orthopedic surgeons and 8 non-surgical physicians on staff at the hospital specializing in knee, elbow, shoulder, hip, and foot and ankle injuries.
HSS has trained +100 of the Sports Medicine leaders in institutions all over the world.
