What We Do

The nurse clinicians of the OPC conduct individual education and counseling sessions for Center patients. They have participated in NIH research protocols, published in clinical and scientific journals, and lecture frequently for professional, corporate, and community audiences. Our annual attendance at national conferences keeps our nurses current on issues ranging from menopause to metabolic bone disorders.

The OPC employs two full-time New York State Licensed Radiographic Technologists, who are also certified by The International Society for Clinical Densitometry. Our technologists maintain the accuracy of our equipment and do precision testing to ensure that all our patients obtain a quality baseline DXA and an accurate follow-up comparison study.

As part of a multidisciplinary team, our medical consultants, all experts in the field of metabolic bone disorders, review each case on a weekly basis. Recommendations may be made (specific to each patient) to the patient and his/her physician regarding further evaluation, lab work, and treatment, if needed.
