Edward V. Craig, MD, MPH
Dr. Craig's clinical focus is on arthroscopy, sports medicine, rotator cuff injury, and shoulder replacement surgery. An internationally renowned shoulder surgeon who lectures throughout the United States and abroad, he has been the designer of a total shoulder replacement system and a pioneer in rotator cuff repair technology.
Educated at Princeton University and Columbia College of Physicians and Surgeons, Dr. Craig spent his early professional career at the University of Minnesota before joining Hospital for Special Surgery as an attending surgeon. He is also a professor of clinical orthopedic surgery at Weill Cornell Medical College.
The author of more than 80 publications, Dr. Craig has written or edited eight textbooks, including The Shoulder, Clinical Orthopedics, Shoulder Instability, and Shoulder Arthroplasty. Additionally, he has extensive research and teaching experience and is a member of numerous professional organizations, including The American Orthopedic Society for Sports Medicine, The American Orthopedic Association, American Shoulder and Elbow Surgeons (of which he was once president), and The American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons (of which he once served as a member of the board of directors).
Dr Craig has been the recipient of numerous professional awards, is listed in Who’s Who in America, Castle Connelly’s Top Doctors N.Y. Metro Area, and is featured in both New York magazine and Connecticut Magazine’s Top Doctors issues.
In addition to his practice of Orthopedic Surgery, he has recently completed a master’s degree in public health at Columbia University, has written and lectured on many aspects of health care, and is a health columnist for MSNBC.com. Dr. Craig has a web site at www.dredwardcraig.com.
