Eduardo A. Salvati, MD
Dr. Salvati is a world-renowned hip surgeon who has dedicated his career to the care of thousands of patients, to the education and surgical training of hundreds of residents and fellows, and to the improvement of hip surgery.
Continuously serving in leadership roles, Dr. Salvati has been at the forefront of major advances in the international field of joint replacement surgery. He is in the Hip and Knee Service at Hospital for Special Surgery and is a Professor of Clinical Orthopedic Surgery at the Weill Cornell Medical College.
For his work in basic, applied, clinical and biomechanical research to refine the complex aspects of total hip replacement, he has received several honors, including four American Hip Society Awards, the Nicholas Andry Award of the American Association of Bone and Joint Surgeons, and the Lifetime Achievement Awards of the Arthritis Foundation and of the Hospital for Special Surgery. As a long-standing recognition for his work, Hospital for Special Surgery has established a Chair in his name.
