NEW YORK—July 7, 2006
HSS President and CEO John R. Reynolds said HSS and its staff are pleased once again to receive this important recognition among the top U.S. medical centers and to be recognized annually for our specialized care.
“We are gratified that U.S.News & World Report has recognized HSS’ world-class expertise in orthopedic treatment and musculoskeletal disease. We work to advance the science of medicine in our specialties by conducting pioneering research. This honor reflects our commitment to providing our patients with the highest quality care,” Mr. Reynolds said.
U.S.News & World Report’s “America’s Best Hospitals” is a resource for consumers seeking the highest quality care in 16 medical specialties. With more than 5,000 hospitals evaluated nationwide, rankings are based on reputation and such measures of quality as patient volumes and mortality rates as well as nursing care and technology services.
Surgeons at HSS perform nearly 18,000 orthopedic surgeries per year. Its Sports Medicine Center physicians are associated with major professional sports teams including the New York Mets, New York Giants, New York Knicks, New York Liberty Basketball, the Association of Tennis Professionals and the U.S. Rowing Team.
