The first of its kind in the United States, the Women’s Sports Medicine Center at HSS is a nationally recognized health resource for active women of all ages and abilities, from professional athletes to eager novices.
The Center’s multidisciplinary staff includes a team of physicians (fellowship trained in sports medicine), sport psychologists, physical therapists, nutritionists, nurses, and exercise physiologists. As former athletes and current fitness enthusiasts, they know what it’s like to train and compete. They have provided medical coverage for many athletic events including the Olympics, World Cup Soccer, the World Rowing Championships and Federation Cup Tennis. They have been team physicians for the New York Power (a women’s professional soccer team), the U.S. National Rowing Team, and the Wendy Hilliard Rhythmic Gymnastics Foundation.
